What You'll Be Up To
As a Game Writer you will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team which consists of members that have been working in the games industry for quite some time.
It’s a team that works fast and you as a Game Writer will bring the necessary writing skills to create amazing stories and worlds. You know how to craft stories, characters and dialogues that help immerse the player in our worlds. You don’t fear to test, iterate and throw things away.
The Game Writer also works with Programmers, Game Designers, and Artists to determine the context for that game content and how it gets implemented in game.
Why You're Awesome:
Have 5+ years hands on experience in the entertainment industry as a writer TV, Movies or other digital media
Ability to interpret and execute the game vision and communicate that to the rest of the team; maintaining the narrative vision of the project.
Work collaboratively with the Art, Design and Tech teams.
Have a great understanding and ability to tell stories, write scripts, find character voice and maintain consistency across the project, have a knack for dialogue, especially non-voiced.
Have experience in world building and have participated in the creation of a new IP.
Have a deep understanding of narrative structure and plot
Be forward thinking and anticipate the needs of the team.
Be meticulous and organized in the approach to the tasks, files and storage.
You have excellent English communication skills (written & spoken): You can make your designs understood all the time regardless of how complex they are.
You have a valid EU-work permit
Bonus points for:
You understand the effect of Community in building games, and have participated in at least one game community in any platform.
Having played a F2P live game for a long period of time and understand its content rhythm and relationship with its community.
Have mobile F2P games credits in your portfolio.
Understanding of Narrative game design and the role that dialogue and text have on player experience
The successful candidate will be an expert in integrating gameplay and storytelling. When you're not writing, you enjoy reading game deconstructions and talking to other writers and designers about the latest industry trends.
Create pitches for the main story, character’s backstories, LiveOps events for our next story driven F2P game.
Work with passionate colleagues to understand how the game’s narrative intersects with its mechanics and visual requirements, technical and production constraints, aiding in the identification of solutions and/or adapting the story accordingly.
Become the project’s point of contact for writing with respects to the creative and technical implementation.
Test and proactively troubleshoot the game’s narrative and help fix them.
Work with game designers to to write in-game dialogue that supports game design goals while staying on-brand
Review and update existing scripts as necessary, and understanding the effect those updates have on the game narrative as a whole
Ensure that all narrative reference documents are up to date and clear to various disciplines around the studio
Understand the gameplay elements and assess how they could affect the development of the story
Aid in the creation of writing pipelines and work flows with the ability to modify and improve them.
